Our conference this year will be on Memorial day weekend -- May 23-25 -- at the Millsaps Cabot Lodge in Jackson MS. We have some great speakers this year -- Karl from Baton Rouge, LA will be speaking Friday night, Marianne W. from Tulsa, OK will be speaking Saturday night, and KC from Dallas, TX will be speaking Sunday morning. We will additionally have a service panel Saturday afternoon specifically geared towards how to support and participate in the process of bidding, organizing, and putting on a YPAA -- this particular event is to get MSCYPAA geared up for maybe traveling next year.

Our theme this year will be outer space - so be sure to bring your spaciest outfits. Our motto is "rocketed into a 4th dimension of existence of which we had not even dreamed" so be prepared to enter the 4th dimension of outer space when you come. (that sounds a little wierd, but come on. . . it won't be too wierd, we promise!)

We also have some fun events planned -- MSCYPAA this year will be coinciding with the Summer Olympic Games in Bejing and in honor of the olympics we will be having the MSCYPAA summer games '08! Those who want to participate will organize teams Friday night, and will 'compete' with other teams in various events throughout the conference. Our events will include a three-legged race, pin the tail on your sponsor, a sack race, Big Book trivia, a scavenger hunt, and mystic bowling. If you would like to participate, simply check the box on the registration form.

Another MSCYPAA tradition is our Catfish and Blues banquet. Of course this will be happening again this year. Trust me y'all -- the best fried catfish you will ever eat, and enjoy it sitting out on a beautifal May afternoon in Mississippi listening to some live blues music! Magical!
